Finding One's Signature Style -

Owning a clothing shop is a bit like waking up in a candy store after close.  There is a fairly strong urge to sample all of the merchandise.  After ten years of selling/sampling our shop's clothing (because how do you showcase your products to customers if you aren't wearing them?) my closet needed a steel reinforcement beam.  Then, I found a sweater that suits me so perfectly, it has become my signature style, ostensibly a uniform, but in the best possible way.  My closet has now undergone a severe culling and in all its OCD glory, displays a rack entirely composed of a rainbow collection of this one sweater with collared shirts already on the hanger with it.

It's no longer a case of what shall I wear, but rather "What color am I today?"  Yes, I still have gardening clothes and unfortunately, cleaning clothes but they are stuffed in the dark recesses of the closet, where they are least likely to taint my beloveds.

Obsession may not have overtaken you yet, but I encourage you to dabble.  It makes getting dressed incredibly simple and for those who are wondering, the answer is no.  No-one ever notices you are essentially wearing the same thing every day.  Somehow, they have other things in life to occupy their time.

So as I bid adieu to our clothing store, me and my streamlined wardrobe will ride off into the retirement sunset where I may find that my new attire does not lend itself well to pickleball...

All my best!
